Good Coffee

Where can I get a good cup of coffee and some food near Accento Studio? This is the one recurring thought many will have while heading to the Intensive.

Just a few steps from our location, walk to Louise Boulangerie. It is a popular bakery. You will be able to grab a coffee and some bakery if that is your thing.

Keep in mind that it is a very popular location, so you may have to wait in line for your goodies.

Location

We'll be meeting and dancing at Accento, a clean, spacious, and comfortable dance and fitness studio on Boulevard Saint-Laurent in Montreal's Little Italy, just steps from its cafés and restaurants.

What the group told us

Pre-intensive group poll and check-in.

The short version

  • About half of the group is new to this these topics. Six of ten either rarely use lápices and planeos or are not sure what they are. Only two use them often.

  • The intensive is a vehicle. Several people care less about the figures and more about musicality, connection, axis and confidence, and said so directly.

  • Nine of ten report some difficulty. The recurring ones are balance and axis, entering and exiting cleanly, and never having been taught the technique.

  • Most have no favorite figure. Seven are open to anything. Only three named something specific.

  • Practical asks. Small-space and close-embrace versions, exercises to take home, and a shared vocabulary. One person asked whether rulos count as lápices, and another mixes up planeos and calesitas.
